Why Hele Mai Maui?
Maui is growing, creating challenges for our current transportation system.
Our population is also changing—the number of older adults is growing, and
young people are driving less than their parents. Hele Mai Maui is the long-
range transportation plan for the island of Maui, a key federal requirement
carried out by the Maui Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO).

Maui will prioritize transportation projects to receive limited funds.
Hele Mai Maui is a 20-year plan that will identify safe and comfortable
transportation options, services, and infrastructure for people of all ages
and abilities.
